Emanuela Gardner
Artist's Statement
Mainly a portraitist, Emanuela Gardner depicts the landscape as a human face with its gamut of expressions and its imperceptible nuances of sensibility. Her images are always unframed in a timeless dimension and in a spaceless composition, yet their weight is immediately apparent. The more you look at Emanuela's photos, the more they seem to become light, until, at moments they give the effect of floating.
The marble masses she captures slowly emerge from the paper like a sculpture from a block of stone, acquiring the height of a relief without loosing their depth... and marble becomes the perfect subject for this art photographer.
